So, this title comes from the conversation we had with our madre last night at dinner. After mentioning how guapo the Spanish futbol players are, she said that the German futbol players didn't even compare because they have square heads that look like watermelons. I’ve never seen a square watermelon but apparently they’re popular in Spain. If futbol is based on beauty--which it is-- Spain will win.
And as predicted, SPAIN WON!! We’re in the final and we can make fun of the Germans and their funny square heads all we want! We watched the game in the same spot in the plaza we always do and had hamburgers with egg on them again. So delicious!
Today was dedicated to finishing our journals so we could enjoy the game tonight so most of the morning was spent at the library. Lunch was super heavy today: potato, beef, and vegetable stew, salad, bread, honeydew and watermelon. I could barely move afterwards. Afterwards we headed to school and then straight to the plaza later to watch the game. Our lives here are pretty much centered around futbol until the Mundial is over on Sunday (when Spain is going to win!).
awww! I just wrote a whole comment and then accidentally deleted it. boo. Basically, here's the recap: I think it's amazing that you get to enjoy the world cup while you're there. TOO COOL. And that picture is so festive and spanish. It makes me quite happy. :)
