Loco Lunes

7-5-2010

This morning I had the chance to take a little walk/ jog around the city and explore/ get momentarily lost on some of the side streets of Salamanca. It was a good time to get oriented around the city and get a little exercise at the same time. I did get some interesting looks though because it’s not super common to run down commercial streets as you pass businessmen and old couples. Oh well. Then I met up with Courtney at the library and had a chance to plan out our first free weekend. This Friday we’ll be staying outside of Salamanca in a CASTLE. Yep, a real live castle. It also has a pool and wifi. Pretty much our dream come true. So, after our midterms on Friday, it’s hasta la vista Salamanca, hola castle of our dreams!

We went to school today after a heavy lunch of pasta, chicken, and honeydew. Eating a lot feels gross when it’s so hot outside. School was school. They changed our teachers so we’re having to get used to new teaching styles yet again but the ladies are still really nice. I have Hester for grammar and Maria for Commercial.

Afterwards, we decided we needed and deserved milkshakes so we did just that. By this time it was 7pm so me and Courtney started the trek home stopping only to buy shoes at the Corte Ingles. I bought the cutest and most intense pair of gladiator sandals you’ve ever seen. My feet aren’t going anywhere with that many straps!

Dinner was gazpacho. Cold tomato soup but with so many other flavors too: cucumber, garlic, onion. Wow, it was an overload to the senses and then they gave us each two more scoops. Yikes. Super crunchy pizza with the ever popular ham as a topping was the next course with the best flan kind of dessert with cinnamon.

After dinner, we watched the ever so cheesy From Justin to Kelly but it was fantastic. I think I’m going to watch some Mis Amigos Tigger y Pooh and call it an early night.
