We visited the "Pastle"!

Happy Tuesday! School was as usual today. Nothing super special. We had hamburgers and pears for lunch, what a combination.

Right after school our Samford group left to take a tour of the Royal Palace. Or the "Pastle" (Palace/Castle as my friend Allison likes to say). It was super beautiful. We only saw 25 rooms out of the 2,000 some odd rooms there are. Everything was major fancy and over the top. We saw the ballroom where the Stradavarius quartet plays every few weeks and the actual beautiful Stradivarius stringed instruments. In this same "salon de columnas", the king and queen just celebrated the 25th anniversary of Spain entering the Economic Union of Europe. Pretty cool. Apparently the kings were obsessed with collecting large, intricate and gold clocks because there are supposedly over 250 of them in the Palace. I think the chandeliers were my favorite part. We also saw the royal dining room with a table that seats over 100 people. Talk about big.

After our palace tour, a group headed to El Espejo, a restaurant near our old school building, to eat the suggested vanilla ice cream with cinnamon. It was delicious. By the time we finished, we were all freezing because we were sitting outside and it started to rain. But it was totally worth it.
YUM :)

Me and Courtney crashed after that then woke up for our dinner of spaghetti. We've been catching up on blogging, skyping and doing homework ever since.
