Soaking up the Culture

Hola a todos!

Yesterday was a good day. School went by fast. After that, we had to meet with our small groups to discuss our assignments for this week. The work load is a bit overwhelming. We have to research Toledo, write newspaper article summaries, write about certain places we visit, do cultural interview and papers all on top of our homework for class. Not to mention we have midterms on Friday. Yuck.

Oh well, after studying for a bit in the afternoon, our siesta ran a little bit long and we slept 45 minutes past dinner. Our madre said she tried knocking on our door but we didn't wake up. After dinner, we headed to Sol and the Plaza Mayor. We attempted to get pastries but the Mallorquina was closed. We had a chance to explore some of the side streets and get to know that area a little better.

At 10 we met up with more girls from Samford: Kimberley, Caitlin, Ashley, Mary, and Allison and we had a "girls night out" just sitting in the Plaza Mayor and soaking up the culture. This is what Spaniards do. They go out at night, they sit and they stay and talk for hours. The weather was perfect and we were so thankful for a light breeze.
