It was school as normal today. Culture class was fun today. We listened to Spanish music and our teacher gave us a huge list of what to listen to from Flamenco to pop.
From school we jetted off to Sol to go to the Corte Ingles and do some shopping for necessities. I also had the chance to buy a couple of beautiful Spanish fans for the Italian family I'm visiting this weekend.
We came back and attempted to take a rainy day siesta but I don't think either of us ended up sleeping very well. That's okay, we got a lot of homework done.
Dinner was interesting to say the least. As I told you earlier, our madre invited her 22 year old Australian rugby player friend that used to stay with her came over. He was very guapo and spoke Spanish with an Australian accent... oh yeah! He hit it off with the girls from VT and I think they ended up bar hopping together last night haha.
Me and Courtney left for salsa dancing lessons right after dinner. They didn't end up starting the beginners class until 10:30 but we stuck around. We didn't have any guys with us but we ended up even being outnumbered by the Spanish guys there. This place we went was so cute. There was a small sitting area in the front of this pub and an open room in the back for dance lessons and free dancing later. It was a very local place and we were the only foreigners there. It was fantastic and so good for Spanish practice. I ended up meeting a guy named Adrian who was so nice and we danced a few times in the free dance at the end. He was way better than me and super patient when I messed up. We can't wait to go back next week. Adrian also told us about free Flamenco dance lessons (apparently he flamenco's too) and we're definitely going to look into that for next week. It was a late night but never have we felt more Spanish!
That sounds AMAZING! I'm so proud of you for staying up late and being daring and learning to salsa! And bring on that flamenco too! You just have to promise me to 1.) bring back solid similes for me and 2.) remember the moves and teach me!!!
